Well it's down to individual choice but I prefer Dukhan having worked in both places. I love being 5 minutes from the beach, being able to walk my dogs in peace and having a circle of friends who are all a walk away. The pool and beach clubs are both like good hotel facilities and the drive is more like 40 minutes to Doha. Since I arrived here there has been huge growth, now having 2 supermarkets, McDonals, Domino pizza and Gloria Jeans and a decent computer shop and pharmacy. Obviously living in a close knit community can be tiresome at times but I appreciate weekends in Doha but am always pleased to be home and love the fact that we are not at the mercy of unscrupulous landlords who can change rents or give you notice. Most people gain a stone in their first year due to the excellent nightly buffet at 4QR to QP staff so bring your trainers!
