Dear Nic,

I am not really trying to "change your mind". I'm just trying to answer questions to the best of my ability. Your mind is yours alone to change.

I will answer your specific questions:

How do you justify the existence of so many good people that are not Muslims?

I never said that Muslims are the only ones who do good things. I only explained how "good" is a relative term. But in the context of the laws that govern a society I do say that Islam (sharia) is the best form of governance for the betterment of the society in general even those that are religiously diverse. The caveat being that in modern times we rarely see it implemented properly so to the outsider/un-educated it looks flawed.

And where was god, lets say, 100,000 years ago?

Same place He is now. What would make us think otherwise? I mean if you believe humans didnt exist 100,000 years ago then that does not mean God didnt exist back then. Moreoever, how would you know?

Isn’t it coincidence that he only appeared with mankind civilization and it happened only in a certain region of the globe as other civilizations of those days developed other ways to deal with the unknown?

No, its not a coincidence. If there was no one here for God to guide and no one to record his teaching then that does not mean he has not been existing all along. Also, all religions I have studied, including the animists, believe in God in one form or another. For many societies the concept of god manifests in a way that is connected with their environment and in others it is manifested as more abstract; while some deify individuals from their past or present.

As for the Muslim who wants to leave Islam then there is nothing in Islam stopping them from moving to another city or country where they can do what they like. I personally know of an American who apostated and lives as he likes in the US in an area that has many Muslims. Apostasy is very rare but I am sure its not due to fear of getting killed. That is something that the media uses for sensationalism.
