Abu Saif is right. Sharia is not outdated. The failure is in the people to implement it correctly due to corruption and/or ignorance. I converted to Islam while living in the US 12 years ago. Before that i had studied all other world religions thoroughly and I also enjoyed studying philosophy (Decartes,Espinosa, Kant, Socrates, Ayn Rand, etc), and history and it all pales by comparison to the timeless wisdom contained in Quran and the teachings of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). There is a book that was writen several years ago my Michael Hart called "The 100..." Wherin he lists the 100 most influential people of all time.
