The Ql joint unions (all departments) call on the Board of Moderators and Dr. Honoris causa to release a circular in line with our demands within two hours from 9.00AM failing which the unions would have no option than to call out their members on a full blown strike.
The Board of moderators is trying to introduce a dangerous precedent by further widening the disparity in basic salary. The meeting we held last Monday ended in deadlock. But they were able to give the dr. Honoris causa over 77 per cent of sugarcanes over what they are getting now and making them elephants but Gica Contra - Liasion Officer was offered 10 per cent, that too peanuts and we said that was unacceptable to us.
We see it as bringing in divide-and-rule tactic in this most sensitive sector. We hope to begin an immediate strike throughout the community. All the 66 QL professionals in the sector are fully mobilised for this strike. All our members have been put on notice.
