Can you imagine any other country where a relatively small fire would be commented on by so many people? For goodness sake, this is a country with only one city, it is easy to get things out of perspective. I can't think why so many people live here, so much of the time isolated incidents such as a fire, being hassled, shock horror a purse being stolen (when actually it turned out she had left it on the counter, something the poster forgot to add to his initial post) are treated as everyone's business and of national importance. I am not saying that those who lose their lives, their homes and their families don't have my full sympathy but stuff happens. It happens in Qatar, the rest of the Gulf, Europe, US Asia etc etc etc. I know where I feel safest for sure.
