correct me if im wrong missX, but i think what she was trying to point out here was a case of a lil' hypocrism? (please dont take this word harshly) the whole point of the women wearing black and being covered is to not draw attention to themselves. moreover, this is a tradition to do so.
and now all of a sudden, they're wearing colored patterns or bright colored cover ups.
as to what missX said in the forum topic, i take it that these muslim women uve seen wearing brightly colored hajirabs are young, arent they? as you know, we live in new times, new generation. i wouldnt really say "subconcsiously", of course they know this..they're trying to get in the mix, evolving-- that they put some kind of fashion into their clothing but also not stir so far away from the tradition so much so as to not cover themselves.
