Guys n gals....please don't spread misconception about wedding ring in Islam. A few weeks ealier, i heard this heard in Friday sermon at the "FANAR" in Doha. There is no mention of exchanging wedding rings in Islamic marriages. It was termed as a religious innovation (biddah) by Prof. Bilal Phillips during the sermon. I was unknown about this earlier but would certainly let people know the truth. As far as the "sunnah" goes, Mohammad (PBUH) used to wear a ring on his little finger but was not exchanged in any of his marriages.

Please correct yourself and take care while talking about Islam and its teachings. Today, Islam is perceived differently than what it actually teaches and stands for. Its infact a religion of peace and brotherhood whereas its actually seen as a religion of hate and terrorism. If possible, do away with this practice of "wedding rings" and follow the sunnah as much as possible.
