I didn't watch Euro 2008. I have been a member of the England Supporters'Club for years and couldn't bring myself to watch a tournament for which ''the golden generation'' failed to qualify.

I thought the Sky Sports folk did the commentary for Al Jazeera though. I was at the golf club one day during the tournament and saw Richard Keays, Sam Allardyce and Trevor Francis having lunch up there. I guess they were doing the studio presentation though. Do you know who Jazeera had at the games? Maybe they did it all from here in Doha which takes away the passion and the immediacy.

I'm glad you got ART sorted. You'll probably find those Showtime Channels that came with the card disappear after a while. That happened with mine, but like you I have Showtime as well. And like you I don't pay much at all for ART. I also added Fox Sports for about a quid a month which was good for watching the US Open.

I was screaming at the TV when Gerrard scored and the commentators failed to react properly. As you know I'm a United fan but I know a good goal when I see one...even if it is being scored by the arch rivals.

I'm hoping United can get the season kick-started tonight.
