It seems that you will not have to worry about your medical.
First of all, you have a health card. This covers the Hamad hospital services. Depending what you need to be done, you will have to pay a small price.
However this also allows you to go to the medical clinics, which are all over town. These are good for small sicknesses, like cough, tetanus shots, small bobo's as we say.
When you go there you do not have to pay for the doctors visit. You pay for the medication. FYI I had to pay a total of QR 8.- for antibiotics pills & cream, 2x ventolin & painkillers. Got the tetanus shot as well. Also the childrens emergency is very good.
If you need more complicated things, then you might want to go to a private hospital. My favorite is Al Emadi hospital. But then again, what line of medicine would you be looking for?
FYI if you need a MRI for your breasts you can only do this at Hammad.
So depending on what you need select your hospital.
