You cannot open a chart in Hamad Women's Hospital directly unless your private doc finds that you are having a high-risk preg.
If everything is normal, then You have to open a chart in the Public Health Centre (PHC) which is close to ur area.
Documents you need: Your's and your husb's PP copy, ID copy, Karama number (bill if posible), photo.
once they open the chart they will start you with ANC and you'll have to visit them quite often cos unlike private clinics, the lab and gyn may not be available on the same day.
But i assure you, you'll be saving quite a lot.
And if there's a risk in your preg (like if u r diagnosed with gestational diabetes or BP or something like that), they refer you to Women's Hospital immediately where you'll open a chart again and start your check ups.
If everything is normal with ur preg, PHCs will refer you to Women's hosp by 28th week.
The facilities provided by PHC and Women's hospital are quite good.
But u have to be a bit tolerant with the few rude doc/technicians you may meet, thats their nature/ way of communicating - not blaming them. they may not answer all the questions you ask. but am sure the whole process is safe, monitored and its all worth it.
All the best
Firstly, Congrats to you!
