My family and I moved here at the beginning of Sept and, so far, we are pleased. As commented above, the facilities are quite good. Definitely a good place for families. There are a number of activities organized right on the compound including playgroups for little ones and movie nights, football and basketball for the older kids. Also outside companies offer classes at the club house for adults and children - Taikwondo, Zumba, Pilates, etc. So there are lots of things to do without having to tackle the traffic.
There is a coffee shop and restaurant in the main club house and the corner store is well stocked and seems to be improving everyday. carwash is cheap. dry cleaning affordable and the workers keep the the streets swept and will come by if you need anything done (vents cleaned, appliance issues, whatever).
Ok, yes, there are speed bumps and, I agree, they are annoying. However, in my view, they are a positive as they keep the roads safe for kids to enjoy their scooters and folks to go for a walk at night. There are no sidewalks so pedestrians have to walk on the roads.
The villas are quite spacious and nice. Although, some personal touches are definitely needed to feel more cozy
We sold our lovely two story home with a large yard in an upper-middle class neighbourhood in Canada and are now in one of the mid-size (apparently there are 3 sizes) 3 bedroom flat. I find the apartment adequate. Not luxurious by any means but adequate. Very hotel-like and beige but I believe you are allowed to paint the walls here provided you pay a fee to have them repainted when you move out (there are also ways around this). The beds are hard and, from what I understand you cannot remove any of the furniture or you will be charged for it (they will not store it but, if you hear that your neighbour is in need of something, let maintenance know you have it available and they will offload you and keep a record so that you will not be charged).
I am not a fan of the kitchen. the countertops and cupboards are very cheap and there is some damage to the surface of the countertop so it never quite looks clean :( The appliances are also not as nice as what I had gotten used to back home but functional. -ya, if I could change anything, it would b the kitchen, it's a bit depressing.
Some people I have spoken with said that they were unhappy on the first floor as there was not enough natural light. We are on the second floor and that is not an issue.
In all, great compound, nice neighbours, acceptable accommodations.
**All three swimming pools are fully operational at the moment but, yes, I hear this is a rare occurrence.
