I have been following this forum since it was posted. I really feel sorry for the people this happened too, but as mentioned before we have not received an update. So we really do not know about the credibility....
However I am surprised at some of the comments made. Why do you assume they are Qatari, and why immediately people think they are Al Thani. FYI the name Al Thani does not mean immediate immunity.
However when this kind of things happen here, and do not misunderstand me, I do not condone any brutality in any form whatsoever , immediately the reaction is that Qatar is an underdeveloped country. That alcohol is involved and what ever else some of you came up with.
The fact is that we should blame society in general. Look at what is going on in the world. If you look in the dailies you see all kinds of articles mentioning crime all over. i.e. to mention one: 14year old accused of stabbing his 16 year old friend. everyday there is stuff like this in the papers. However I think what we should blame is the media which publishes these articles and specially tv, films and computer games which give as example this kind of behaviour as frequent and normal. They teach kids that this kind of behaviour is run of the mill. Consequences are not the issues.
When kids get these kind of examples thrown at them, it is logic that they start acting out in real life. They challenge each other. Dare each other.
To avoid these kind of situations all over the world I think we should start monitoring the kind of violent movies, games, tv shows and articles in the paper.
Let our kids realize that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable in any kind of form. We should start at the bottom or source of the problem.
And FYI most of these "examples" are born from the western society.....and since Qatar is opening up no wonder it is now getting here too.
Maybe all this should be the subject of a new forum. Am looking forward to see your reactions and I can go on about this ubject. I even wrote to Dr Phil & Oprah about it a couple of years ago.....
