Sorry mate, but there are no "historical" mosques of any importance in Qatar like you have in Egypt, Syria, Iran, Saudi, Jerusalem, or Turkey. And I have no idea what kind of "Islamic sites" you are referring to. This is a very new country with 90+% of it built in the last 20 years.
You could, however, go to the Museum of Islamic Art on the Corniche. It is really exceptional.
