On the similiar note, I have noticed that a newcomer is mostly taken as a stiff competition (Not talking about me but general observation). I can understand the apprehension when people have'nt met but if the views expressed by the person are valid and not particularly match everbody's perception, he/she should be given a chance or reprimanded politely. Certain people do appear to be intimidating.
