First find out the cause of your jaundice, i.e; whether it is due to infectious cause or due to others like obstructive jaundice or blood disorders. Most common is viral hepatitis which can be of various types like A,B,C,D, E. Type A and E are spread through feco-oral route via contaminated food and water which B and C via blood and blood related products.
D only exists with B and not alone. All of these may cause the symptom of jaundice. So to answer any of your question, first you need to get diagnosed properly.
And only if you have Hep. B, I think you may be reported to authorities as it is screened during our medical for visa.
