Thanks ladies and gents for all the above suggestions, but I want Tommy to have all his chances and if a vet says that he will not heal from his disability, then I would ask them to professionally put him down, it breaks my heart, as you can see from the picture he's small and very sweet, friendly too (he's sleeping against my foot as I write this). If anyone knows of a humane vet let me know, my vet is good but he's a realist and would probably want to put him down.
