I live in Dukhan and absolutely love it! It is quiet but you have the most amazing facilities. Newly built beach/sailing club/slide pool, recreation center with pool, coffee shop and pool louge area like any good hotel, childrens soft play area, subsidised meals at 4QR per meal at the very good staff restaurant (also does takeaway) McDonalds Gloria Jeans Domino, large Food World and Dasman center, free cinema (all facilities are either free or a very small annual charge)excellent school (well, I would say that!) amazing medical center (as an ex nurse I can say it is the best I have ever seen)and a very close and friendly community. There is a huge Phillipino community here, people socialise a lot and are generally friendly. QDC visits every other week.
I will not comment on your pay or conditions or on QP except to say we have an extremely secure and happy life thanks to the way we are treated and whilst Dukhan may be too quiet for some, I would say come and see it for yourself first. I hope you will love it as much as the people who live here.
By the way, of all the people who tell me how boring/remote/dire Dukhan, none of them have actually been there.
