These are guys who do the nifty work of bringing about everything that is what is generally going up in this town. Most of them are the smiling, nameless face Asians. Greeting each and everyone in different languages. They are height challenged guys with quick small asian steps having to assert themselves in order to be accepted and respected by their tall peers. Toiling hard. They are guys working in big common rooms full of computers. Working towards the general design or concept of the bosses. Making, improving and applying their designs each day to make a better place for the general populace. They are the guys that make sure that buildings will not break and fall on future occupants but nonetheless putting their own lives at risk .
They are the one being paid peanuts while their western and Arabian counterparts earn the big cookie. They are names you will never see in a project billboard in spite of the contributions they have made. They smile silently as they look up in view of “their buildings” in the skies of Qatar.
forgive mefor being to sentimental. Maybe too much instant cappucino is making my head whiz. But I praise this forum and hope that this will give me and my people the respect we deserve.
