I had many such experiences,

= at groceries, got mobile back next day.
= at a hotel, got it back same night.
= at resturants (many times), got it in hours.
= in Cairo, Egypt (a cab driver) returned it back the next day along with other things.
= in dubai (a resturant) missed a movie to get it back.

am lucky ... or what..
