a) it holds you accountable for what you say on this site. You cannot no more wriggle out of a situation that was of your making by saying i didnt know. Its giving more responsibility to the users about their conduct on the site.
b) It prevents QL from becoming a chat site, where tonnes of one line messages would sink the more needy posts (I think this has been said earlier). For example, more than once, i have seen some topics about info i needed get sunk with stuff like 'good morning/evening/afternoon QL' threads. Am not saying its unnecessary, but the comment function would have people thinking again before they post. It does me.
These two are enough reasons for the admins to add the function and i support their move. But since Qatari said that there would be a review whether it needs to stay or not, it just might go. Personally, i wouldnt cry if it went. ;)
