"we're so cheap we don't have a marketing department"
Why do you need a slogan for a firm that makes stuff out of metal? It's not like you're trying to sell fizzy sugar-water, is it. Does any of your competition have a slogan? Just beat the competition on price and quality and you're sorted.
What would you think of your customers if they chose another firm because of their logo and slogan. Maybe you need a few leaflets showing what kind of products you can produce, but a recommendation letter from a satisfied customer is going to be far more important than any marketing rubbish.
