I have been involved in various chatrooms and always after a while the arguing starts and can sometimes turn really nasty. I have sometimes feared a person could become suicidal over what is said.

I joined QL and loved the banter, argy bargys and all! I went on the dhow trip and met a few - it was great and I got home feeling really good about life.

Then, next day, there was some really horrid stuff on here (*I* found it horrid, anyway) and I felt suddenly very depressed - took me a day or two to bounce back up to be honest.

When my husband came home I started to tell him about what had happened and how I felt so down and you know what he said? He said, he had heard it all before from me, every time I joined a chatroom something would eventually upset me.

No sympathy THERE then lol - but it is an example of how it is in open forums - you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people ALL of the time etc etc.

People can be very brave from behind a monitor.
