I gather from your question, that you might have already swapped your provisional UK one for a Qatari one. I know that the difference between the provisional and full is the red L in a square on the top left of the license.
If you have done that, and if you ever have an accident in Qatar they will check your file with (traffic police) and if someone notices that (they probably will) you will be jailed or expelled from Qatar with a huge fine and the accident, whether your fault or not, you will pay for and your insurance will be void.
If you return to the UK with a Qatari license you can drive for 1 year and then have to get a UK full license but if you are British that changes, you need one immediately.
