sl - another fantastic biopic....interesting how there were two this year that really stood out...Both The Queen and The Last King of Scotland (two "royalty" films too) were unusually good, well acted and tight with the story. Both Mirren and Whitaker morphed into their characters.

I actually think Mirren had the more difficult job, as she was doing a story on a living person...in her own country. A very risky move on all involved with the movie.

If you like sci-fi/suspense movies, I just saw an entertaining one...Deju Vu, starring Denzel Washington and Jim Caviesel (who played Jesus in The Passion of the Christ), et al. It was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who is normally associated with action movie schlock, but, this movie actually came together rather nicely. I was ready to turn it off after 30 mins because I thought it was getting a bit too cheesy...but I thought I'd hang on due to the actors. I'm glad I did. Definitely a good popcorn and soda movie (and actually a good "date movie" too)
