Last King of Scotland was absolutely brilliant. Forrest Whitaker has done such a wonderful job with his career and his acting. I can first remember him as the (almost) hapless Jeep Driver in Good Morning Vietnam. I think his most impacting role (or at least the most impressionable) prior to LKoS, was his role in The Crying Game.

He's definitely one of my favorites!
