i have seen it out here with my own eyes within my socail circle. but it happens in every country it happens all the time! people like to show off there wealth by having the fancy tvs, the fancy cars, the fancy jewlely its a stauts thing - thats how they define themselves, if they look wealthy then people will assume they are rich. You cant just generlaize it to qatar and expats it happens all the time - its materilazim ( cant spell sorry!) and it drives people.
