here in doha, we actually wait for any occasion to celebrate it, coz u have nothing else to do.. working , shopping, going to restaurants thats all, so making something like valentine special in family, if u have family with u, or between friends will make nice impact and take u out of routine.. on valentine the romantic spirit is higher than usual so if u make this friends party for singles, im sure some girls will attend too, u will form couples after it.. good luck
