Lets get one thing straight...i have said this before and ill say it again. Islam is not a "religion of peace" like christianity claims to be, it is not a religion of "turn the other cheek". Islam encourages peace with those who desire peace, however, it mandates war against those who instigate war.
The suicide bombers that we hear about are not created in a vacuum. There must be a trigger for all this. These (usually young) men see an almighty wrong against their religion and people with innocent muslim lives being taken by "liberators and purveyors of freedom". We cant deny the fact that innocent lives are cheap in the middle east.
If the west insists on subjecting muslims to whats happening in the world right now then these "terrorist" ranks will grow bigger and bigger. These "terrorists" see no difference between bombing innocent civilians in iraq or afghanistan or palestine and blowing themselves up in a crowded train in madrid. Innocent lives are innocent lives no matter how they died. Because its done by a military apparatus does not make it legitimate.
These (whether u call them terrorists, insurgents or freedom fighters) really believe they have a legitimate cause in avenging innocent muslim lives by taking innocent non-muslim lives. it will only stop when oppression of innocent muslims stops.
I draw your attention to the afghan-ussr war of the 80s (in which the UK and US contibuted billions to the afghans). There was no "terror" of which we hear today. This was a war in which muslims were fighting an oppressive occupying force face to face, man to man. I am sure if the existing terrorists were afforded the same equipment and opportunity to fight, then the suicide bombings would stop.
