What a Bolt into athletics history…
What a fantastic performance. He lowered the World Record by eleven hundredths of a second. A world record at the Beijing Olympics (9.69 seconds) and a world record at the World Championships (9.58 seconds).
This old girl, who grew up watching pictures of Jesse Owens dot her growing-up surroundings, watched the race live on Al Jazeera. I unashamedly admit I screamed when he thumped his chest in rightful glee.
What a performance. I have always felt I missed out a lot because I could not watch Jesse Owens compete in flesh and blood. Now I have seen Bolt, albeit on TV. I have seen another legend in the making.
I am content. God bless him.
And with the rest of the world, was silenced for a moment.
And then the scream started!
What a majestic performance.
great great great LOL
mean average of a 100 m is 36 km/h! or 10 m/s!
200m is faster!
i wonder what the top speed is?
Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14% of people know that.
Bolt is good....but cant compare him to Jesse...
Jesse Owens was the best in 3 disciplines:
100
200
Long Jump
and also used to compete in the 4x100.
It takes a lot out of the person when one takes into account they do the distance 3 times over a couple of days including the selection, heats, etc.
Bolt does 100m, 200m and 4x100m.
Only Carl Lewis came close to Jesse Owens. I think Carl did 4 Olympics....lets see how many Olympics Bolt can do? Two? Three?
What an amazing run!
When he broke the World Record in Beijing, he was already tapping his chest after 90m knowing he was going to win.
Analyzers said that he could do better if he had actually run the whole 100m as he did in the first 90m...
And there you go... they were damn right!

Obstacles are what you see when you set your eyes off the goal.
Don't open up old wounds. She is "putting" with someone else now :O(
Brit, your Cuban shot putter did not well this time. Did you not feed her enough?
I thought Jamaicans were into Ganja and not Crack .
He still has the 200 m to crack.
just saw it before, didn't think he could do it again after the olympics.
i'm proved wrong yet again.
A great performance from a great athlete.. Superb
