American Muscle cars and European cars are also great and it all depends on the consumer what he wants. If he/she wants a crap, light weight car which dis-mantels itself while moving on road..then he/she can choose Japanese cars. Others who like Durable, long life, Heavy Muscle and manly cars..then they can go for something American/European etc..
Have you ever noticed, Most of the old cars still moving on roads are american or european! it is because they have used quality materials not like your japanese low quality products. That is why your cars are light weight and after few miles all the equipments starts giving weird sounds.
Anyways, for modification topic, your point is useless. As it is illegal to modify a car here then why companies should get such ppl who are good in customization/modifications. They are following a standard procedure of repairing. Which is good.

In my past experiance.....don't modified your car. I have been caught by trafic police last 3 years because car modification. Luckly I'm not in jail, only the car are been put in Abu Hamour for 2 weeks and fine QR 3000. Think before you do anything.
Subaru using boxer engine (not boxter like porsche but boxer) with 4 pistons moving horizontaly. Basicaly all engine has a same system, so the way to tuned the engine is almost same. But almost all of the mechanic here in Qatar include company garage mechanic are MORON, EMBASIL AND IDIOTS!! They don't know how to tuned, they don't know how to repair, they don't know how to improve the performance of a stock engine. what they can do is only REPLACE. In a country like Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand we are more advance in automotive technology compare to arabic country. We never throw an old car and replace it with a sport car instantly, we will try to do our best to improve the performance of the old car until it reach the limits. The mindset of most people here in gulf country, if you want a fast car then buy an american muscle car or european sport. They never saw in Youtube that most of american and european car got smoked by a small japanese car. American and European cars are craps! Their technologies also retarded compare to japan! To make a sport car all they can do is just put a big capacity engine to make the car run fast, but for a Japanese car they only put small engine but can smoked that muscle car.
