MADRID: Barcelona’s members backed the club’s sponsorship deal with Qatar Sports Investment on Saturday, the final hurdle to securing a cash injection of as much as $230m.

Members at the Spanish and European champions’ general assembly voted 697 in favour of the record five-year deal, with 76 against and 36 blank votes.

must admitt I'm amazed barca have survived for so long without a shirt sponsor deal in place! They certainly couldn't have afforded their summer signings without the deal
