Hello
I am from UK and have been in Doha for 2 months, my friend and I went Jet Sking last week, we hired a jet for 500QR for an hour, we were provided with tacky life jackets.

Whilst in the middle of the sea our engine of the Jet Ski failed and it toppled throwing my friend and I in the middle of the sea. The waves were thick and it washed the boat away from us. Due to my Asthma I was unable to swim back the the Jet Ski.. my friend tried very hard and managed to get towards me as the tides were just takin me away. We were in the middle of the sea with very tacky life jackets and no one to be seen. We were in the water for only 40mins but felt like a life time.

Luckily we were rescued by some Qatari guys who happened to be going by. When we got to shore and informed the boat hirer of the incident he denied there was anything wrong with the boat and in front of us made a deal with another British couple in usin that boat.

Luckily I still had the strength to tell the couples not to use it as it was faulty.

There are NO life guards or any police watch around the area. Be very very careful if you do go.. your at your own risk..

You know the risks when you take one of them. Take one from a hotel if you are worried, they will come looking for you when you don't pay...

Life is a risk, too. Where are the experts? It's about time that you become self-responsible, man.

Yeah i rented a jet ski from these guys, i think they are from egypt. The engine kept failing at low rpm ( idle ) When I notified them, they did not seem to care much about it.

500 riyal for 1 hour??? I got it for 250/hr.

Always better to go in groups though.
