Hi..Im totally disagreeing wid Qaqa's comments . As far as im concern im working in a reputed travel agency in Qatar and people they are asking abt Turkish Airlines is increasing day by day .At first they had only two flight to Istanbul weekly now it becomes daily .And also their price is competetive if u compare wid any other airline . They have 150 destination all over the world and more than 105 flights .Although they have lots of costumer satisfaction programs like miles & smiles , free tour to transit passengers etc.Almost 90% of the passengers are happy travelling wid Turkish Airline and thats why they are going wid them again and thats why we travel agents happy to sell Turkish Airlines tickets..
I agree with you Ulas. I have never had a bad flight with them although the domestic terminal in Istanbul could be improved. Unless you go in the coffee shop, all the seats are hard.
International flights and the majority of internal configurations have plenty of leg room and I have never had a problem with the attitude of the flight crews.
Overall they compare favourably with some of the larger airlines although the business class could be improved seating wise.
I guess they are not very reliable then. I am flying thru istanbul onto amsterdam. I was worried about delays as i have 5 flights to catch and really dont want to stress over being late. the other option I got was to go through dubai on QR and from dubai to amsterdam on KL. It adds hours on to the journey that I would have rathered not have.
got back 4 days ago from a vacation in eastern europe and we flew turkish. TERRIBLE!!!
flight was supposed to be doha-istanbul, istanbul-slovenia. first, they had the istanbul-slovenia route landing in croatia and we had to wait for over an hour in the place. we were flying with a 4 month old baby so this was a nasty surprise.
second, out of the four trip segments, only 1 had nice staff who were helpful and courteous. the rest acted like we had invaded their living room. on the last one my wife lost it on a stewardess because we were standing in the back of the place with our baby - when she would cry we would go in the back so as not to disturb the other passengers and this woman kept making faces at us like we were in her way.
third, and this one i do not understand... our first flight from doha to istanbul was from 2 am to 6 am. they had the lights on the whole time. at about 4 am they even turned them on more. that also didn't help with the sleeping baby. almost everyone was trying to take a nap and these turnips wouldn't turn off the lights.
and lastly, all of their planes were making some pretty loud mechanical noises that i do not normally hear when i fly. not sure what that was about.
overall, a real mickey mouse operation. one trip was enough for my wife and i to never fly them again if possible.
a very average airline.....wen u wanna look at the price..go ahead...so forget that ur gonna get any service....we all need to get to point B right....and save money and spend it on a lavish hotel in Istanbul..UNLESS ur too rich..then FLY QA...much better option....a still better flyin experience..Emirates...
I am frequently flying Turkish airlines. My rate is minus. It's terrible. Their office in Qatar is awful. No service. Personnel don't know how to treat customer. None of them speak Turkish. I am facing problems every time. Due to these reasons I choose Qatar airways even it's expensive that THY.

I am siding with Withnail and going Qatar Airways and KLM instead. I am not taking a chance with Turkish.
