I am looking for recommendations for family camping sites in Qatar. Sites accessible to standard cars (4x2) preferably on the beach will be appreciated as we don't have an offroad vehicle :)
i've tried camping in alkhor, just behind the QG and RG community... its pretty good aswell...its pretty quiet and peace.. and love to go for crabbing and fishing back there...it is highly recommended..
U can go to the Sealine resort, then keep straight on the small r/a in front of the resort. It is off-road but well compacted, so dont worry as long as you're on compacted ground. U'll see there a lot of 4x2 cars including saloon park over there. My Previa van has no problem to go off-road there, even in the compacted sand +/- 30 meters from beach line.
Just bring the sling for towing, in case of emergency.
But the annoying thing is why there is no public toilet overthere?
Sealine worked out well but not at the beach. We found that there is no way to access the beach on a car (4x2) from Sealine without running the gamut of soft sand.
There is a small road that branches off the main sealine road right after Qatar Chemical Plant and goes all the way to the sea. But the ground on both sides is below sea level and it is flooded during high tide. Camping is possible near the dunes about 1/2 km away from the sea shore but the area is only accessible to 4 wheel drive vehicles.
We found that some areas to the west of the Sealine Road, in front of the refinery are accessible and that's where we pitches our tents. This put us firmly in the backyard of an ATV (Quad motorbike) rental places but it was fine.
The whole sealine place is choked with camps but most were deserted during the day.
well considering the limitation in vehicle that you have there aint many options for ya unless ya go sell ya car n get a 4WD then its a diff story altogether...........:O)

I dont think Wakrah or sealine is a good option for camping. over crowded and noisey.
..Is that the Pearl Roundaboutin Al Wakrah?
Sealine Beach near Mesaieed is a great option and you can do some fishing as well around dawn.
You have to be careful getting in to the water, too many rocks and also a lot of garbage and broken glass lying around.
Another more accessible location is near Wakrah, when coming from Doha, take a left from the Shell roundabout and keep driving towards the ocean.
Well, try SeaLine Beach, near Mesaieed, its good and as per urs specifications.
