Guys... whoever have travelled to Thailand...
Could you share with me, where it's better to book the trip there? Through the agencies in Doha? Any particular website? Or you suggest me just browsing the net, and ya'ani "help yourself"?
thanks!
i'v been twice to thailand.. better to book it here with QatarAirways...look for a hotel in the downtown in Bangkok as taxi rip you if they dont go on meter.
Pataya is a sex industry...but its good experience.
Phuket is a must visit beautiful beach with crystal clear water. you can either fly or route with Bus service but might be tiring as its i guess 9 hours drive.
Check Ambassador hotel (located at 171 Sukhumvit Road soi 11) which is in downtown & gave good service while i was there the first time.

We booked our flight through QA. Our hotels we found via www.lastminute.com and Expedia. We got a great deal at the Chatrium suites in Bangkok-think 4 or 5 star, by the river at a ridiculous price. At Koi Samui we booked the Peace resort-which was ok-we ended up getting a better deal ringing the hotel directly. Generally they say that it is cheaper to book the hotels on the internet. We then went onto Koi Samui-via Bangkok aiways-we pre-booked but you can also buy tickets at the airport.
Lonely Planet guide from Virgin was also very useful.
Me, too. I decided to pay a little more to go non-stop on QR. You can check prices in kayak.com. I use tripadvisor.com for hotels and booked through sawadee.com and agoda. Taxis from airport to hotels are cheap and easy.
I have been to Thailand last year, and I bought from here only the airplane ticket. We stayed one day in Bangkok and after we took the airplane to Phuket. From there you can go by ferryboat to Phi-Phi island ,James Bond, etc. or to take an internal flight to Koh Samui, are many islands you can visit. And also are plenty of turist agencies there, they will offer you good deals(one day trips),no need to buy packages from here. Just book the hotel for the first 2-3 nights and once you'll reach there you can find better hotels. This is what we did and was just great. Have a good time there!
I just returned from Thailand and followed "help yourself"...took help of the websites as Expedia.com, Bookings.com, Hotels.com to check on the guest reviews(and they are quite accurate)for booking hotels. Flew Qatar Airways as they only seemed to have a direct flight.
