Al Waab Signal to be closed for work
'Al Waab Signal … ‘temporary closure’'
The Al Waab Signal will be partially closed for one week from today, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said yesterday.
The closure is in order to complete road work, it said.
Motorists coming from Sadd Signal towards Al Waab will have to turn right at the Lakhwiya Roundabout and then turn left, followed by another right turn, to come back on the Al Waab Street.
Those coming from Bustan Street towards Al Waab will go straight past the Lakhwiya Roundabout, turn left and then right to enter Al Waab Street, the Authority said.
Meanwhile, the Operation and Maintenance Department (O&M) of Asghal’s Assets Affairs has opened the Majlis Ta’awun Street and Al Khaleej Street (Gulf Street) after completing maintenance work.
The O&M is responsible for the maintenance of streets and roads wider than 24m while the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning takes care of smaller streets.
“Also O&M observers conduct daily analysis of the roads, and engineers chart action plans based on the analysis reports. Issues regarding traffic safety are cleared in consultation with the Traffic Department,” an official explained.
