29,057 orphans are being taken care of by Qatar Charity
A total of 29,057 orphans are sponsored by Qatar Charity (QC) in 22 Arab and Muslim countries, Asia, Africa and Europe, including Qatar, a senior official at the organisation said.
QC vice chairman Abdullah bin Hussein al-Nimah said that the organisation adopted comprehensive care for orphans, which includes social welfare, education, healthcare and awareness on best ways to be useful members of their families and communities.
Al-Nimah explained that the sponsorship value of orphans per month range from QR 150 to 200, according to the standard of living in the orphan’s country, adding that it can be paid in cash at the QC headquarters or branches worldwide, as well as in the shopping malls, or banks.
He observed that QC also provided multi-service centres, which some include dorms as the centre in Bangladesh, established in 1995 and lodging 338 orphans.
