Throwback Food Festival to return to Old Doha Port for Ramadan

The Old Doha Port will organize a series of events during the blessed month of Ramadan, featuring the Ramadan Cannon, the Throwback Food Festival, Musahar Al Mina’s nightly strolls, and the traditional Garangao night.
These events aim to revive some of the most prominent traditional Ramadan customs and offer a variety of other exciting activities.
The Old Doha Port management has invited local and international visitors to enjoy a blend of traditional customs and festive atmospheres. It will host a wide range of activities catering to visitors of all tastes and ages throughout the holy month.
The Ramadan Cannon, a significant symbol of the blessed month, will be fired daily to announce the time for iftar at Mina Park across the Containers Yard.
The Throwback Food Festival will return to the Old Doha Port, in collaboration with Qatar Tourism, showcasing a curated selection of local restaurants and cafes. This festival will run throughout Ramadan at the Containers Yard.
The Musahar Al Mina will roam the Old Doha Port at night to remind visitors of suhoor time. This traditional practice will be revived throughout Ramadan, with Musahar dressed in traditional attire to enhance the authentic atmosphere of the Ramadan nights at the port.
The Old Doha Port will also host the third edition of the ‘Ekbes’ Beach Volleyball Championship, which it will also be sponsoring. The competition will be held in the event area north of the port district.
The port is also set to celebrate Garangao night, one of the most prominent family events during Ramadan.
Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy a unique ‘Dinner in the Sky’ experience for iftar or suhoor at a height of 50M, offering stunning views of the Doha skyline.
As the month of Ramadan draws to a close, the Old Doha Port will host the ‘Wada'a Ramadan’ event over four nights, a popular celebration where port-goers bid farewell to the holy month.
