50% discount on traffic violation fines in Qatar to end this month

On June 1, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) introduced a 50% discount on traffic violation fines. The discount was brought in alongside a new set of traffic rules and procedures for traffic violations, introduced in response to the increasing number of tourists travelling in and around the Gulf.

The MoI reminded users that the discount on fines will come to an end on August 31. Qatari citizens, residents, visitors, and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are all eligible for the discount.

The discount is also applicable to violations recorded within a period of no more than three years.
