Qatar national football team continues preparation for European FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers

The Qatari national football team is currently continuing their intensive training in their external camp in Vienna, Austria, in preparation for three matches in the European qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Qatari team will participate in the European qualifiers as a guest, without counting the results, after an invitation received by the Qatar Football Association from its European counterpart, since Al-Adaam will host the World Cup at the end of next year.
The Qatari team will meet its Serbian counterpart on the first of next September at Nagyerdei Stadium in the Hungarian city of Debrecen. This will be before the team faces Portugal at the same stadium on the fourth of the same month, and then concludes the confrontations of the next stopping period by arriving as a guest of the Luxembourg team on the seventh of next month within the first group.
The Qatari national team is playing home matches in Europe to bring the distances closer to other teams and in light of travel restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
The Qatari team had achieved remarkable results in the first three matches in the qualifiers that took place last March, as it scored two victories over Luxembourg 1-0 and Azerbaijan 2-1 and drew with Ireland 1-1.
Spanish coach Felix Sanchez summoned 31 players to participate in the camp in Austria, maintaining the same list that made a distinguished appearance in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup (North, Central America and the Caribbean), where topping the fourth group with a 3-3 draw with Panama and then beat Grenada 4 Zero and Honduras 2-0, then reached the quarter-finals at the expense of El Salvador 3-2 before losing in the semi-finals to the United States 0-1.
