Two athletes from Team Qatar will take part in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games set to kick off this week.

To be held from August 24 to September 5 the mega sporting event will bring together 4400 athletes from 160 nations.

Qatar’s top Paralympians Abdulrahman Abdulqader and Sara Masoud are all set to make their mark and do the country proud with their participation in the Games.

Qatar’s sport delegation has already arrived in the Japanese capital of Tokyo and is ready to kick off their campaign in the games.

Qatar’s shot putter, Masoud will kick off her competition on September 2, while her teammate Abdulqader will start for the  F34  glory on September 4.

The two champions are hoping to add to Qatar’s portfolio of stellar sports achievements.

Masoud is the first-ever woman crowned with the Paralympic Games medal in the history of the nation. She won the  F33 Shot Put silver in Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and added another a silver in 2017 Para Athletics World Championships.

Masoud has also an amazing record at the Asian level with a gold medal in both Shot Put and Discus Throw at Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games. She later elevated her medal tally by winning the silver medal at Jakarta 2018 Asian Para Games.

On the same track of glory, Abdulqader has been the first-ever para-athlete to step up the podium in the history of Qatar.

He claimed the silver medal in Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, then spared no effort to win the  Shot Put silver medal at 2017 Para Athletics World Championships.

In 2014, Abdulqader cut the edge to claim the gold medal at Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games.
