
Qatar keen to support Iraq, affirms FM

Qatar has once again affirmed its support to Iraq, stating that it seeks to invest in job-creating opportunities in the country.
This was highlighted by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani yesterday during a joint press conference with Iraq’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Mohammed Hussein.
HE Qatar’s FM is on an official visit to Iraq, where he delivered a written message from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the President of Iraq, Barham Salih.

During the press conference, HE Sheikh Mohammed underlined that his discussions with the Iraqi President as well as the Iraqi PM Mustafa Al Kadhimi were fruitful.
The two brotherly countries reviewed bilateral ties and looked into ways of bolstering economic relations, HE Sheikh Mohammed said.
He also announced that Qatar and Iraq have agreed to reactivate economic cooperation.
HE Sheikh Mohammed said he hoped to see an expansion of the investment and economic cooperation between Qatar and Iraq.
In terms of supporting Iraq’s stability, HE Qatar’s FM said his country is looking into developing projects and supporting job opportunities that will benefit the peoples of the two countries.
On his part, Iraq’s FM stated that Iraq is Qatar’s second country and they will support the activation of the agreements between Qatar and Iraq.
