One in six adults in Qatar have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine: MoPH

As Qatar continues to speed up its National COVID-19 Vaccination Program, the country has been trying to make it easier for eligible people to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
Last month, the country opened a temporary COVID-19 vaccination center in Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), launched a drive-through COVID-19 vaccination facility, and also began administering vaccines to registered homebound patients.
In a weekly update, issued yesterday, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has highlighted that 18.2 percent of Qatar’s total population (16 years and above) has gotten at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In the last seven days, as many as 134,498 doses of the vaccine were administered to citizens and residents of Qatar eligible to receive the vaccine.
A total of 594,613 vaccine doses have been given until now under the country’s National COVID-19 Vaccination Program.
The infographic further states that one in six adults in the country has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
As the country had been emphasizing the elderly to take the COVID-19 vaccine since the start of the vaccination campaign, 70 percent of people above 80 years, 69.4 percent of people over 70 years and 66.8 percent of people above 60 have received at least one shot of the vaccine, so far.
Yesterday, the Ministry also announced that it is collecting feedback regarding side effects, if any, faced by individuals who have taken the COVID-19 vaccine.
Individuals wishing to share feedback can do so by clicking on the ‘COVID-19 Vaccination Feedback’ section on the Ministry's website.
The Ministry communicated the importance of feedback as it will allow them to record and monitor any symptoms people have.
