HH the Amir attends the quarter-finals for Qatar Total Open 2021
HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani was present during the 4rth day of the 19th Qatar Total Open 2021, a tournament that features some of the best female tennis stars from around the world.
Additionally, a number of distinguished sheikhs, ministers, and tennis lovers were able to attend and witness the thrilling quarter-finals at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

Precautionary measures in adherence with the Ministry of Public Health protocols were imposed during the tournament with the aim of reducing the spread of COVID-19.
HH the Amir witnessed the tournament quarterfinals that took place between Elina Svitolina and Victoria Azarenka from Ukraine, ending with a score of 6-2 and 6-4 in the favor of Azarenka.
Moreover, the Amir was also present during the quarterfinals between Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic and Jessica Pegula from the USA.
Jessica Pegula emerged victorious as the match ended with a result of 6-3 and 6-1, allowing her to qualify for the upcoming semi-final match.
Held since 2001, the WTA Tour event has grown to become one of the signature events on the WTA Tour calendar and a most sought-after tournament in the region.
The Qatar Total Open that started on March 1 will be taking place at Doha’s Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex and will run till March 6, 2021.
