Qataris traveling to KSA urged to abide by Kingdom's customs declaration procedures

In a historic decision toward Gulf reconciliation, the airspace, land, and sea borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia were opened earlier in January.
The decision served as a precursor to the historic agreement signed between the leaders of the GCC nations, who pledged to restore ties and strengthen cooperation for the region's stability, unity, and prosperity.
As the Abu Samra border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar was reopened on January 9, 2021, over 900 vehicles were said to have crossed the border in the first three days.
Flights were also resumed to and from the countries on January 11, 2021.
As several Qatari citizens make their way to Saudi, the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged them to abide by the Kingdom's customs declaration procedures.

These procedures are listed on the Saudi Customs website for all travelers coming to and departing from the Kingdom, whether citizens, residents or visitors.
Additionally, Qatari citizens are also asked to be prepared to pay customs duties and value-added tax that may be imposed on valuable items in their possession to avoid legal accountability against them.
Procedures announced by Saudi Customs can be found here.
