COVID-19 vaccinations at QNCC by appointment only: PHCC

As Qatar began scaling up efforts to vaccinate more people under its National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the country launched a temporary vaccination center at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) earlier this month.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) had announced that during its first phase, the center will provide vaccinations to teachers, school administration staff and other essential workers as well as community members who meet the eligibility criteria.
Primary Health Care Corporation’s (PHCC) Managing Director, Dr Mariam Abdulmalik had specified that “Vaccinations will be administered only to those that have received an invite; others are requested to wait until they receive an SMS invite.”
Now, PHCC has once again reminded citizens and residents of Qatar that vaccinations at this center will only be administered to those who have prior appointments.
In a post on its Twitter page, the PHCC said, “COVID-19 vaccines are available at the QNCC by appointment only and we regret that we are unable to vaccinate walk-in attendees without an appointment SMS invite.”

For those who have a prior appointment, the PHCC stressed the need to arrive at the designated slot time “to avoid overcrowding and long waiting times.”
All those who arrive at the center are required to show their PHCC invite SMS.
The PHCC underlined that the failure of individuals to arrive at the designated time has an adverse effect on the service.
The Corporation also reminded everyone that the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to all residents of Qatar, based on the national phased approach.
“When you attend your appointment, please ensure you provide your valid QID and health card, invite SMS, as well as your Ehteraz (with green status),” the PHCC highlighted.
All those who reach the center for the vaccination are urged to comply with the necessary precautionary measures including wearing a face mask and maintain social distancing.
“Once you have taken the first dose, you will receive the SMS for the appointment of the second dose,” the PHCC said.
