Qatar affirms continuous support for Palestinian people

Qatar has firmly stood by the Palestinian people over the years. The country has stressed time and again that it will spare no effort in providing whatever support it can to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians until the Palestinian people obtain all their legitimate rights.
Qatar has once again affirmed its continuous support to Palestinians. This came during the launch of the new headquarters of the Qatar Committee for Reconstruction of Gaza.
At the ceremony, Chairman of the Committee, Ambassador Mohamed Al Emadi underlined that since the Committee began field world in the reconstruction of Gaza in 2012, it has achieved new heights in the field of development and reconstruction.
He drew attention to the initial $407 million grant of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and shined a spotlight on the Committee's role in supervising hundreds of humanitarian projects that have met the needs of the people of Gaza in various fields.
The ceremony saw the attendance of several government figures, deputies in the legislative assembly, leaders of Palestinian factions, and representatives from international and civil society institutions.
The Chairman also appreciated the support of the engineering, technical and administrative teams, in addition to several Palestinians, toward the Qatari projects in Gaza.
He also recognized international organizations as well as ministries, authorities, and official and civil institutions that played a supportive role in ensuring the success of the Committee's endeavors.
Ambassador Al Emadi expressed his gratitude to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for allocating a 3-donum piece of land in the Ramallah governorate, to set up the permanent headquarters of the Qatari embassy.
Earlier this week, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani gave directives to provide a financial grant of $360 million to the residents of the Gaza Strip for the year 2021.
The grant comes within the framework of Qatar's continued support for brotherly Palestinian people besieged in Gaza.
The Hamas movement hailed Qatar's continuous and generous support for the people of Palestine and recognized its efforts toward implementing several important projects.
