Over the last few months, families have started sharing space like never before. The living room has been converted into a part-time study. The bedroom is also your lounge area and the kitchen is all in one.
Now imagine a small one-bedroom apartment for a family of four where the young sisters sleep in the bedroom and the parents have a bed in the main room. Wouldn’t you think storage solutions need to be smart and plentiful?
With the aim of creating a better everyday life for the many people, IKEA has put together creative idea’s that will help you make space for everything you own in the house in the limited space you have.
SANDARED pouffe, QAR 425
A combination of shelves that run across the width of the room, up near the ceiling, maximises the space. Push the dining table up against the bed and stack the chairs next to it. You will have enough open area to bring in the SANDARED pouffe, a soft and beautiful pouffe that can be used as a footstool or extra seat. If placed in the centre of the room, it also makes room for more active play when friends come over.

MILSBO glass door cabinet holds a mix of things both quirky and practical such as souvenirs, glassware, vases, craft supplies, baskets filled with extra candles, all in style. The KRAGSTA coffee table does double duty as a play table by day and the parent's bedside table in the evening.

Chose the lowest-priced options, hang them across the full wall, stacked the top with plain storage boxes and zipped bags for off-season clothes, and added curtains to whisk closed over it.
In the small bedroom for the two sisters, under bed storage takes the place of a chest of drawers. They share a kids-sized wardrobe along with a desk. A storage system of pull out bins, makes good use of wall space, creating both a spot to play and store toys neatly away at bedtime.
