Qatar Embassy delivers medical aid to Mexico

Qatar's leadership and competent authorities have been playing an outstanding role in tackling the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In addition to Mexico, Qatar has come to the aid of more than 22 countries including Belarus, China, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Nepal, Palestine, among others.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Mexican States provided a shipment of medical aid to Mexico, including protective equipment and medical supplies worth $200,000 sponsored by Qatar Charity.

The aid shipment was delivered to the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs in the presence of HE Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard, HE Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights Martha Delgado and HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari.

The Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs thanked, in a speech, the State of Qatar for standing with Mexico during the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and spoke about the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Al Kuwari explained that this initiative aims to enhance the support of the health sector in Mexico to face the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The support reflects Qatar's contribution to international efforts to tackle the infectious disease, which poses a common threat to all countries in the world.

Meanwhile, health authorities in Qatar continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, and the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
