Staying more than 6 months outside qatar

My wife will be staying outside qatar for around 10 months in india starting from 16th feb untill dec

Question is when i should apply for return visa extension by paying a penalty of Qar 500

Shall i apply for return visa in december itself as it has a validity of 1 month?

From what I know, you can get an extension in the visa from the immigration office here before she leaves. Suggest, you pay a visit to any passport and immigration office and find out from the authorities.
